A GUIDE
FOR CAREGIVERS
What does caregiving mean to you?
Caring for someone with Spasticity is a vital role. While it’s impossible to capture all of the ways a caregiver can help their loved one, here are some tips that may be useful, especially if you are new to the caregiver role.
How You Can Help
- Assisting with daily activities, such as getting dressed, driving, and bathing
- Listening to the person you care for. Spasticity can be emotionally challenging, and lending an ear can go a long way to helping someone with Spasticity know they’re being heard and supported
- Communicating and expressing your loved one’s questions and concerns to their healthcare team. Advocating for and helping your loved one to ask questions and keep track of issues experienced in their daily life can be very helpful
